Bryant Grove Trail

Grandson Elijah and I are hiking our way through the book, 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles of Nashville. Last Saturday we tacked Bryant Grove Trail, an 8-mile round trip hike along the shores of Percy Priest Lake in Long Hunter State Park. Elijah made it fine. He had so much energy he did wind sprints the last mile, and then hopped over traffic posts on the way back to the car. I, on the other hand, was a bit tuckered when we finished. It wasn’t a spectacular hike, but level, lovely, and we saw deer, a vulture, several huge anthills, and lots of wild flowers.
