A Little Worry-Free Bible Study

If you’re prone to fret and worry, take some time to read Matthew 6:19-34, where Jesus says, “Do not worry… Why do you worry… So do not worry… Therefore do not worry…” He begins the passage telling us, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth” and ends by saying, “But seek first His kingdom.” From last week’s sermon at The Donelson Fellowship (you can watch or listen to it from links on this page), here is a little outline to guide your reading:

  1. Regarding Money, Our Primary Concern Should Be Investing in Heaven (Verses 19-24).
  2. Regarding Necessities, Our Primary Attitude Should Be Trusting in God (Verses 25-32).
  3. Regarding Priorities, Our Primary Goal Should Be Pursuing the Kingdom (Verses 33-34).

When I read these verses I think of what C. S. Lewis said: “Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.” Someone else put it this way: “If you take care of the things that are important to God, He will take care of the things that are important to you.”

So don’t worry so much!
