Even at Christmas, pastors are thinking of Easter and wondering what to preach. I devoted yesterday to working on an Easter-season sermon series based on a passage I’ve been memorizing, Psalm 46. The chapter begins: God is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in trouble. This is also the Psalm that says, Be still and know that I am God.
Do you have a story about a time when Psalm 46 spoke to you in an unusually helpful way?
Or perhaps a story about a time when Luther’s hymn, “A Mighty Fortress,” which is based on Psalm 46, spoke to you?
If so, could you e-mail Sherry Anderson at Sherry@donelson.org. As you know, we “collect” stories and we’d love to have it as I prepare these messages. Thanks!
