Verses to Claim When Discouraged in the Work

  • Be strong and courageous, and do the work.  Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you.  He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the Lord is finished—1 Chronicles 28:20
  • He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him—Psalm 126:6
  • As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My word that goes out from My mouth: it will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it—Isaiah 55:10-11
  • Therefore, my beloved brothers, stand firm.  Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain—1 Corinthians 15:58
  • Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up—Galatians 6:9

  1. That Isaiah verse reslly encouraged me today – Just learned about a young gal I used to teach years ago who is PG and not living for the Lord – single, no job, bad home situation, and not in church BUT She knows the Word so I know that God can reach her

  2. I’m reading all of these verses through each day now! I don’t want to leave Lhasa after this year feeling discouraged and uneffective, but we want our last year here to be one where we remember that He is doing great things! Thanks Pastor Rob for these reminders!
