We arrived in Israel late tonight and just barely. This has been hardest and longest trip we’ve ever had in getting here. Weather was the primary culprint. My flight from Nashville was diverted to Pittsburg, and I barely got to New York in time. Van and Rhonda Stewart had the same problem. The three of us landed late in LaGuardia at the same moment on two different airplanes, and hired a car for a mad rush to JFK. We made it only because our outbound Turkish Airlines flight was later, so everything just cascaded into missed flights and lost luggage. Along the way, we encountered a medical emergency with one of our travelers and had to leave a party in Istanbul. We finally made it to Tel Aviv after another delayed flight, but the luggage didn’t make it. (Well, mine did. I didn’t check a bag; I traveled light and used only a carry-on, which was what I recommended to the others; but did they listen to me? Sigh…) We got to our hotel at 3 am after about 48 hours of travel, and I’m writing this at 4:40 am, just now getting to bed. We’ve pushed back the start time for our touring in Galilee tomorrow until 9:35 (am), but we’re going to take an easy day due to jet lag. I think we have the hardest parts behind us — Lord willing — and now I’m eager for a wonderful visit to His Special Land.
Don’t let any of this discourage you if you want to go with us next year. It’s not usually this bad….
